Masala Fries w/ Roasted Cumin Aioli

Spicy, cripsy, and delicious fries served with a rich and creamy roasted cumin aioli!

Ingredients

Fries

  • 540 g russet potatoes (~3 potatoes)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne
  • 1/8 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp mango powder garam masala, cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • Salt to taste

Roasted Cumin Aioli

  • 3/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/3 c veganaise
  • 1/2 lime
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

Fries

  • Peel and chop your potatoes into medium sized fries. Coat them evenly in your oil and spices, and pop into the air fryer at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes.
  • Make sure to split this into two batches and flip each batch half way through each batch.

Roasted Cumin Aioli

  • On low heat, dry roast your cumin seeds until fragrant. (Around a minute or so - make sure not to over-roast or burn).
  • With a mortar and pestle, grind the cumin seeds into a fine powder.
  • Combine roasted cumin powder with your veganaise, freshly squeezed lime juice, and a pinch of salt.
  • I use the juice from about half a lime for this recipe but feel free to adjust!
