This single-serving apple crumble is warm, buttery, and baked right in the toaster oven. With caramelized apples and a crisp cinnamon topping, it’s the perfect solo dessert—especially with ice cream on top.
Prep the Filling: Chop one Jazz or Honeycrisp apple into small cubes. Add them to your ramekin or baking dish. Pour in 1 tablespoon melted butter, 1 tablespoon + 1 tsp raw sugar, 1/8 tsp cinnamon, and ½ tsp lemon juice. Mix until the apples are well coated.
Make the Crumble: In a small bowl, mix 3 tbsp flour, 2 tbsp raw sugar, and 1/8 tsp cinnamon. Add 1.5 tbsp melted butter and mix gently with your hands until small clumps form. The texture should look slightly damp—like wet sand that sticks together but still crumbles.
Layer It Up: Spoon the crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture. Don’t worry if it doesn’t fully cover the apples—this is a lightly topped crumble.
Bake It Off: Bake in a toaster oven at 350°F for about 30-35 minutes. The crumble should be golden brown, and the edges should be bubbling. If it looks pale, let it go a few more minutes. If you are using a regular oven you may need to bake a little longer - around 35-40 minutes.
Serve and Enjoy: Let it cool slightly before topping with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream or my rose saffron kulfi for a fun Desi twist.

Notes
(1) The topping should look a little “damp,” like wet sand—clumpy and crumbly, not dry.(2) Oven times may vary—look for bubbling edges and a golden top.(3) This is lightly topped—feel free to double the crumble portion if you want more!(4) Jazz or Honeycrisp apples work best, but any firm-sweet apple will do.(5) Serve with vanilla ice cream or kulfi for the full experience.
