Welcome To My Kitchen
Hi, I’m Shreya — a former lawyer turned full-time recipe developer, food creator, and the face behind Shreya’s Kitchen.
I create bold, comforting, flavor-packed vegetarian recipes that feel exciting to make and even better to eat. Around here, you’ll find everything from weeknight dinners and cozy comfort food to takeout-inspired favorites, Indian-inspired dishes, street food, and fun sweet treats. My goal is simple: to make vegetarian food that never feels like the “boring” option.
I want these recipes to feel approachable, achievable, and genuinely craveable. Whether you’re a lifelong vegetarian, trying to eat less meat, or just looking for something delicious to cook tonight, you’re in the right place.

Why You Can Trust My Recipes

Recipe development is not just a hobby for me — it’s my full-time work. I’ve spent the last 6 years developing, testing, filming, and refining recipes for a large online audience across my blog and social platforms.
My recipes are shaped by (1) hands-on experience, (2) repeated testing, and (3) constant feedback from a highly engaged community of home cooks. I’m especially known for creating vegetarian recipes that feel satisfying, fun, comforting, and full of personality.
I’m also the author of Make It Meatless, a cookbook featuring creative vegetarian recipes designed to deliver big flavor and serious comfort. Writing a cookbook pushed me to deepen my recipe development skills even further and reinforced the standards I bring to every recipe I publish.
FAQs
Honestly, my favorite recipes to develop are the ones that feel the most fun to eat. I love anything cozy, saucy, crispy, spicy, cheesy, or just a little over-the-top in the best way. Takeout-inspired meals, Indian-inspired dishes, street food, comfort food, and creative meatless versions of dishes people wouldn’t expect to be vegetarian are probably my favorite kinds of recipes to work on. I just really love making vegetarian food that feels exciting and craveable, not like the boring alternative.
My love for cooking really started in college, when I began experimenting more in the kitchen and realized how much I enjoyed it. During the pandemic, that interest really took off and turned into something much bigger. I started developing recipes more seriously, sharing them online, and building Shreya’s Kitchen into what it is now. In 2023, it officially became my full-time job.
Shreya’s Kitchen really started during the pandemic, when boredom pushed me into the kitchen way more than usual. I needed a creative outlet, and cooking became that for me. What started as something to do at home turned into a real passion — I fell in love with experimenting, developing recipes, and sharing food in a way that felt fun and personal. Over time, that little pandemic hobby grew into something so much bigger and eventually became my full-time job.
