What is Strawberry Sago?
Strawberry sago is a popular Asian-inspired dessert drink made with small tapioca pearls (aka sago), sweet strawberry milk, and a mix of fun toppings. It has a creamy base, chewy sago pearls, and fruity add-ins like nata de coco and popping boba for extra texture. Think of it as a cross between bubble tea and a pudding-like dessert—it’s light, refreshing, and ridiculously satisfying! While mango sago is a classic, strawberry sago is just as delicious and a must-try for strawberry lovers. Plus, it’s super flexible! You can adjust the sweetness, swap toppings

Strawberry Sago
If you want to make the best Strawberry Sago, make sure you have the following ingredients. But, keep in mind, that sago is very customizable. You can alter any of these ratios to suit your own preferences around sweetness and texture. This is just an estimate to give you a ballpark idea!
1 packet nata de coco jelly
½ cup small tapioca pearls
½ cup strawberry popping boba
14 ounces strawberry milk
Sweetened condensed milk, to taste (I recommend using about ⅓–½ of a 14-ounce can)
4 large strawberries, roughly chopped
Ice (I like to make spherical ice using a special ice mold, but of course, this isn’t necessary!)
How to Make Strawberry Sago
Cook the Sago: Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the small tapioca pearls. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Cook for about 10–15 minutes or until the pearls become translucent. Drain and rinse under cold water. You can also transfer the pearls to a bowl of ice water to prevent them from sticking together.
Assemble the Drink: In a mixing bowl, combine the strawberry milk and sweetened condensed milk. Then, stir well and adjust the sweetness to your liking. Keep in mind that the ice will dilute the mixture, so you’ll want the milk on the sweeter side! Then, add the cooked sago, nata de coco, popping boba, and chopped strawberries. Pour the sweetened strawberry milk over everything.
Enjoy! Add lots of ice, give everything a final stir, and then enjoy your homemade strawberry sago!

Absolutely! If you don’t have strawberry milk, just blend regular milk with fresh strawberries, and increase the amount of condensed milk you use!
If you don’t have nata de coco, try grass jelly, lychee jelly, or even diced fresh fruit like mangoes or peaches.
